Après deux ans d’incertitude politique pour les chrétiens-démocrates allemands (CDU), 1 001 de leurs délégués — réunis à Berlin ou par visioconférence — ont élu samedi Armin Laschet à la tête du parti. Malgré un retard dans les sondages durant quasiment toute la campagne, M. Laschet, considéré comme le candidat de la continuité et largement soutenu par les cadors du parti, a gagné au second tour face au candidat de l’aile droite, Friedrich Merz. Le candidat de centre gauche Norbert Röttgen avait quant à lui été éliminé au premier tour.
