Irene Queralt Santamatilde

Irene Queralt Santamatilde was born in Madrid. Now living in London, she is pursuing a PhD at the University of Westminster and is a member of JEF Brussels. Her current research is focused on feminism, radical democracy and the politics of affect, although she has previously researched on federalism, nationalism and the politics of hegemony.

Το 2020 οι συζητήσεις περί φύλου ήταν πολύ έντονες στην ΕΕ. Η δέσμευση της Ursula von der Leyen να « καταπολεμήσει τις διακρίσεις και να προωθήσει την ισότητα των φύλων » (2020) καθώς και η νέα Στρατηγική για την Ισότητα των Φύλων η οποία δημοσιεύτηκε από τον Επίτροπο Dalli, φαίνεται να ανοίγουν το δρόμο για την ενσωμάτωση της διάστασης του φύλου τόσο στα θεσμικά όργανα όσο και στις πολιτικές της ΕΕ.
